I had updated to 57. Speeddial gone. Now all speed dial addons ask for permission to "access your data for all websites" and more. An example is below.

Why they need permission to access all data on websites?
    Is it safe?

For the people that wants to mess a bit with coding, use the Element Inspector in the about:newtab page, it helps locating elements, and even modifying their CSS properties on the fly, so you can see if your coding has the desired effect or not. That's what I use to see what to change. It's pretty useful :P

This is exactly what I was saying in my earlier post. I was downloading Speed dial [FVD] and when I saw that it was asking for all these permissions I simply gave up and clicked on deny to cancel the installation. With the script I learned here I achieved exactly what I wanted from speed dial. The real question is: do these extensions really need to be so intrusive in your privacy for such small service!

How could you manage with script in place of speeddial? Any guidance? Or can you share the script?

AHHH!, just for the record, version 57 now enables AMD VP9 Hardware decoder, so now you can watch up to 4K videos in VP9 without your CPU suffering the consequences, in my case, up to QHD 1440p, since my APU is only able to decode up to that. Still, VP9 is disabled by default, so, if you have an AMD card and wanna try VP9 decoding, just go to about:config and look for this:

    Code:
    media.mediasource.webm.enabled
Change it from false to true and relaunch Firefox, now you are able to see VP9 videos using hardware acceleration.
Thanks for passing this on. I have a 4K monitor and an Nvidia GPU with Pascal architecture that supports VP9. 4K videos now run without stuttering, something they haven't been doing in regular Firefox versions.

Yes, I know how to use Inspect Element tool (I already tried that as I'm a new web designer), but I need someone to just guide me to in which files I should play with. in other words the source of the files themselves (their location).

Since most of you are using 57 from first beta stages, can anyone tell me how to rearrange New Tab entries as it was available before ? It's also not possible to just drag a bookmark to it to make new tile. I managed to make 24 entries but now they are filling up tabs in some mysterious way.
