I don't see that much difference.

I've been using Nightly 57 for a couple of days & it definitely seems much much faster than 54. I created a new profile for nightly & then synced it with 54.

Square tabs takes a little to get used too after Australis.
I tried to install Nightly in a sandbox (Sandboxie) to check it out, unfortunately Firefox 57 is not compatible with SBIE yet or can not be installed sandboxed. But I did get to see the tabs, and they look alright to me. The little I got to see of the browser looked a lot better than horrendous Australis. I think I am probably going to be fine with the new version of the browser when it comes out. :)

@bo elam: Square tabs are making a comeback it seems to me after Edge came out.

I tried FF 57 again this time with Edwin's tweaks and it's alright. It's a little quicker than normal FF but not as fast as PM. The square tabs are pretty common with browsers - I think they are too big on 57. I think i like less option pages and more scrolling, not sure. Reminds me of other browsers. My extensions work as "legacy" but if they didn't work at all that might be a deal breaker depending on replacement options. If they off the search bar I won't like that. The right side next to it reminds me of edge. Don't know why they put a show sidebars options button. Browser overall seems okay but hardly a revolution or anything. I'm not finding it mad fast or even as fast as my current browser. Hope it gets better and works out well.

Only one of my extensions doesn't work. Thumbnail Zoom Plus. Maybe i'll try Brave browser. It seems to be pretty fast. Has a built in adblocker. Normally i use Firefox beta, but it won't install the last update. Every time i check about it's downloading the update, i restart, check about and it's doing it all over again

That sidebar is huge for me. I feel very uncomfortable using the drop down bookmarks. I like the old one click button that opens bookmarks as a sidebar. I dont think I ll be able to get that in 57 (getting it now with CTR) but with that option in 57 it ll be 2 clicks. To me that's a lot better than drop down bookmarks. The tabs dont look like Chromes, that in itself is a plus, and l am used to using them that way. :)

Don't use the sidebar and removed the icon.
