Installed 57 and it does seem quite a bit faster than current FF. It picked up all my regular FF settings and data, so there was nothing to do except apply Edwin's suggested settings. 2 of my add-ons have a "Legacy" tag, but they are still working. I'm guessing they won't work when 57 is officially released in late November? I'm keeping 54.01, but will switch my daily browsing to 57.
    That's the plan

All my extensions didn't work, but i could enable them again in about:config by double clicking on extensions.legacy.enabled.false. But for now i only use legacy extensions. uBlock i use the dev.

    Hi folks

One thing Firefox does that loads of other browsers can't do is this : FLAC uncompressed sound ---you'd better have a decent sound card and DAC's in your computer and mega quality speakers. Chrome not supported for this application either - only Firefox.

BBC Radio 3 will be streaming The Proms in crisp lossless audio this year | TechRadar

Currently Classical Music - but I'm sure later will be rolled out to other types of gigs -- you have to pick up the live streams though -- currently you can't download (although of course you can always capture in real time with appropriate capturing hardware).

    Cheers

How did you get the add-ons to install. When I check I get the not compatable message and the link is not active.

do you have the official latest firefox released installed? if so then just install the addon in it, restart if asked to, close it, then launch the 57 nightly should be there now. you may need the about:config hack mentioned above.

Those extensions were already installed. Before i always used the beta's (but they wouldn't install the newest update) so i downloaded Nightly. Since yesterday's update legacy extensions won't work anymore.
I think you need to install an older version of Fx, install your favorite extensions and then download Nightly.

All I can say is you have a problem, both options work just fine for me. Maybe you should try a fresh install??
