I've been an avid PC user since Windows 3.0, so know that routine. A Chrome choice is more the rule now, but that hasn't always been so. Some Trojan Horse piggybacking on other programs still happens on occasion. Just not nearly as often as it once did. But I suspect the improved consideration is due more to host providers than to Google. Still, it shouldn't be a matter of having to check anything to keep from getting a program in addition to the one you elect to download. Making installation of something you haven't ordered the default choice is indefensible, IMO.

I was having a few problems with Nightly, so switched to FF 57.0b3. It's better so far.

Sorry Old Timer but I was around long before 3.0 and I have used Firefox since it first came out as Phoenix. I believe it was DOS 2.0. It should not have to be that way as it should not that way but it is, such is life.

Same thing here - I uninstalled it. First I tried to refresh it and that cleaned not only Nightly but my regular Firefox browser , That diddn't make me at all happy. Luckily I had Macrium Backup which had run just before that, so I didn't come out too bad.

    56.0 just showed up.
It's not stable. Multiple crashes 58 is pretty fast and stable. I'm pretty sure that the legacy apps must be the issue
