From what I read the config trick is not going to work when 57 goes final. When my add-one stop working in Pale Moon and Firefox I'll have to decide what browser will be my new daily browser.
I think many developers will update their extensions to be compatible when the release version of Firefox 57 comes out.
Because if we didn't we'd never be able to use any software as all of them have something in their verbiage that would make us cringe. It's the choice you have but don't have - agree or don't use. Period. And switching to the next guy, doesn't change the standard EULA agreements. Again, agree or don't use.
That said, yeah, the "Oh my god, they're spying on us" is a bit laughable when we do so many things on a regular basis that easily exposes us to "spying"
As I tell many, if you don't want to be "spied on", disconnect electronically and live the life of the 17 hundreds :)
I'm just going to wait and see what happens when 57 comes out. In the meantime, I am playing with Chrome and Opera to get them to my liking as alternates to Firefox. I am sure I can work it all out some way.
