The current version of Windows 10, so called Creators Update W10 version 1703 is Redstone 2. The upcoming version 1709, so called Fall Update in colonial English or Autumn Update in real English will be Redstone 3. First feature upgrade in 2018, version 1803, will be Redstone 4.
I surely hope MS calls it Autumn update. Fall just doesn't sound correct for one IMO.

Fall and autumn are both accepted and widely used terms for the season that comes between summer and winter. Some who consider British English the only true English regard*fall as*an American barbarism, but this attitude is not well founded. Fall is in fact an old term for the season, originating in English in the 16th century or earlier. It*was originally short for fall of the year or fall of the leaf, but it commonly took the one-word form by the 17th century, long before the development of American English. So while the term is now widely used in the U.S., it is not exclusively American, nor is it American in origin.

In it's essence Macrium Reflect Free is the same as the legacy Windows 7 backup but much more powerful and reliable. :)

Please notice, this is just my personal, subjective opinion:
I think Microsoft's policy is right. Windows does not have to include every possible feature and tool. As third party applications to do some tasks can be found for free (like Macrium Reflect for backups), it is unnecessary to natively add these features to Windows.
Windows native backup reached its end of life. It is / was not as easy to use as free third party alternatives. In my opinion, it was a right decision to kill it and let users choose a third party alternative instead.

Ok, so I corrected my post, but I stand by my following statement unless they code name it differently.
The first original Windows 10, code name Threshold 1 (TH1) was released to the public as a free upgrade on July 29, 2015.
The first “Feature Update” of Windows 10 (aka November Update or version 1511) code name Threshold 2 (TH2) was released on November 12, 2015.
The second “Feature Update” of Windows 10 (aka Anniversary Update or version 1607) code name Redstone 1 (RS1) was released on August 2, 2016.
The third “Feature Update” of Windows 10 (aka Creators Update or version 1703) code name Redstone 2 (RS2) was released on April 11, 2017.
The fourth “Feature Update” of Windows 10 will be (aka Fall Creators Update or version ?) code name Redstone 3 (RS3) to be released hopefully in September or November of this year. I'm sure they want this out for Christmas season.
It only makes sense to me that the next Insider previews for the next “Feature Update” (Spring or Summer release?) will be code named Redstone 4 (RS4). Whether it be Fast Ring rs4_release or the Fast Ring/Skip Ahead rs4_prerelease.
Only one minor point - initial release was not only released as free upgrade. If you did not have a qualifying licence, you still has to pay.

Well, we know that most backup software use a collection of internal Windows tools that are there to stay. Only thing that gets removed is the tool that manages this collection of smaller tools.
We can do a lot with just DISM, DiskPart, Shadow and a few more tools. Just difficult to use for the average Windows consumer. :)

Well said. And shared by many, I believe.
What I mean is, that in my opinion it is OK that Microsoft kills some features that can be done with free third party alternatives. Windows does not have to be a complete solution, it just needs to offer a platform to do about everything.
