    I just checked and I was kicked off Skip ahead. Changed my level back to slow active. Changing the registry key did nothing - I was reverted at next check. I am able to change my Insider level to Fast Active but skip ahead no more. Did this happen to anybody else? Is there a workaround other than the registry edit (which reverts). I will reboot now to make sure I'm on the Fast track anyway. Why did Microsoft do this?
    Probably because they knew some of us Insiders are sharp enough to bypass their decision to limit the number of Skip Ahead members? My best guess is (1) They prepared for it or (2) They created code to revert us.

    That is, if your situation is not a fluke . . .

    Kari's trick worked. How in the world did you figure that out? I am now on the Fast track Skip ahead. I would say that I was a bit worried since after the reboot the registry editor was not open but I was running a backupl at the time. I will have to image this "new" build now.
    OK, discount my reply further down the road . . .

    I guess will just have to see if there is a surprise update at 1 PM EST (1700Z, GMT or UTC). I'm getting some doubts though. : (

    There will be a build sometime today as DS has not tweeted that there will not be.

    I joined Skip Ahead before the cutoff date, so we'll see what happens next.

    Of course, I have to go on a grocery run, so I probably won't be here when the fun starts.

    Geeks, just a reminder, the trick is not mine, I couldn't even think something like that. Thanks for that trick goes to our fellow member @tracit99 as I told before:
    @Kari
    I am all about kudos when it is due. However, I did not come up with this registry trick. I gave credit to Winaero and others who responded to his blog. May be I should go back and modify my post to make this clear. Just remember it takes a village to raise a geek.

    Edit: Updated my original post to make credit more noticeable.

    You should be OK Wynona

    It means unless you are already part of "Skip Ahead" you can't download rs_prerelease Builds thru Windows Update.

    :)

    It's just that it is important to me not to take credits from someone else's work. I saw the trick first in your post, and wanted not to take credits of that.
