Trying to get more information about N editions now getting Insider builds. The response from Insider team is to put it mildly really confusing.

(Sorry for double tweets shown, embedding a tweet from a thread always also shows last tweet before the one you embed.)

    Those replies are pathetic!

But if you asked the name of the Ninja Cat's favourite moggie bics, I expect they will know.

LOL. If you're bored then let's compare our Applicability settings. You both still have yours?
Nope! Lost it with clean install!

A while back, MS intoduced a feature into Hyper-V where you could export a hyper-v vm in a very compressed format, and all you had to do was double click on it to create new vm. I remember it did not work, but I cannot seem to find it now to test it again. Am I losing the plot or have the Ninja cats finally got to me?

Cheers - glad to see I have not totally lost the plot but maybe I am starting to suffer from that memory illness whatever it is called .

I'm just sorry for forgetting to add a ninja cat pic, please accept this as a sign of me fully understanding that we should not talk about Insider preview builds and features without either a ninja cat joke, kitty pic, reference to Hustle-as-a-Service or taco hat, or as preferred, all of them.

BTW. the above is as far as I can recall the second ever cat pic I have posted on Internet since long before WWW (I was a Gopher user long before WWW was presented in early 90's).

    Interesting...

Further testing this with N editions and Insider builds, I clean installed W10 Education N version 1703 build 15063. Opting in for Insider Fast Ring with an Insider Pro (Azure AD) account, I got a ring selection I've not seen before:

No questions about Release preview, Slow or Fast ring, only the above options were shown. I selected Skip ahead, of course:

It was accepted without any issues. However, after obligatory restart, the selection was reset to Just send me early updates. I selected Skip ahead once again, and my W10 EDU N started to download 16257.1000 immediately:

Apparently, A) you can still join Skip ahead without any registry hacks, at least in certain circumstances (clean install, opt in), and B) N editions really are now in Insider program.

Am I on the Fast/Skip Track?

I cannot tell from the About Windows (license inserted using Winaero Tweaker BTW) whether I'm currently running the RS4 build or I will be running it after the next update this coming week. Advice?

In any event while waiting for this build I installed Docker for Windows and followed the instructions to disable Virtualbox networking and create a Hyper-V DockerVM. Looks like a pleasant way to mark time.
