So I decided after the recent underwhelming Fast Ring upgrades (eye control is a good feature but one I will not use) to join the "Superfast Ring" (as I call the Skip Ahead) but missed the boat :-(.

After closing Settings my gets reverted to Active but can be reset. I get a message that it has been reverted to it. It just wouldn't stick.

You may be able to reset it manually at: Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsSelfHost\UI\Selection

Check/toggle the highlighted values; let us know if it works!

Take ownership of the registry setting and remove access to it but yourself. And then watch Settings app possibly crash!
