I never been overseas so I don't know how it works. I do agree that the USA is behind on things like this.
    .

    Denmark uses the same system.

Re. Autofilling, I recently discovered that if I use the web interface via chrome, the password is remembered but not shown automatically but can be selected which is sort of convenient but does increase risk. You still need the card system to get in though in first place.

I'm not overly concerned about privacy issues but I still don't do banking or government stuff online.
I still physically go to the bank once a week for that reason.
(That, and I've got a huge crush on the teller!!!)
I do not think I have been to my branch for five years or more.

Hahhah, if I go to the bank I have to wait for several hours, then I have to pay a 5€ fee per bill payed. NOPE! I do everything online. If I could eat and sleep as an online service I would do that too. :)
Some activities are still more fun offline ;-).

I have problems using EDGE period! It is sluggish as it has ever been for me. I just don't see what is useful about it. I still prefer IE.
When I first got Edge/Bing I had serious doubts about liking it. I stopped it from posting news, weather, sports etc and just enjoy the daily picture w/ quiz. That alone seems to slow up the opening just a tiny, tiny bit. OTW of the three browsers I use I find Opera w/ Google search the quickest followed by Nightly w/ Startpage but Edge isn't bad and I do use it often. I don't find it sluggish on my machine just not quite the fastest.

Nobody here uses checks anymore, that ancient third world way to pay bills.
Paying utilities and such per direct debit, if my bill was due on Tuesday, I get an email on Wednesday (might occasionally be Thursday) thanking about my payment or complaining they didn't get any.
Depends on the third world country. In Trinidad & Tobago, bill payments are doable by phone; account transfers too.

I did a phone transaction the at the beginning of last month. I was having trouble accessing my online account and had to call the credit card company. While I was on the phone I went ahead and made my payment. If I wanted I could pay most of my bills by phone. Two that I know for sure I can't pay by phone is my water bill and my property taxes. I can pay them online.

edit: I think we need a new build. This build is running so good most of us are getting bored and going off topic. 😊

Are you suggesting they should intentionally screw something up to make it interesting ?
Can't wait until they start dropping Rs4 features in. Don't even know what ideas they have for it.

I am a customer of 3 banks, and have 6 accounts in total. All banks work exactly the same for me as @Kari stated earlier. I also have a service that if everything gets stolen from me, all I have to do is call one number and All my cards, bank accounts and mobile services gets freeze/locked down immediately. From this point onward, I have ZERO responsibility for what happens next, just like @Kari stated earlier.

I've had people try to use my credit cards before. All I had to do was call the credit card company and report it. They did all the investigating and all charges were erased. They canceled my accounts and issued me a new cards with a new account numbers. When I reported the fraudulent transaction on my bank card I was given 3 papers to fill out. 1 for every fraudulent transaction. Then they told me I had to contact the business where the transaction took place. All 3 were at 3 different Wawa convenient stores. Wawa is a major local chain store that is starting to open store out of the area. I'm still waiting to hear from Wawa to see what they are going to do. My bank won't do anything until Wawa makes a decision. Having your credit card stolen is much easier to solve than having a bank card stolen.
