Windows 10 is going to bankrupt microsoft..it's forced creator update travesty has stuffed so many PCs and lost irreplaceable data.
I never lost a single byte from any PC or phone since first beta of W10 including every single insider build. Properly maintained PC or any device will not loose anything no matter which OS.

I've had a few distastes over the years. But thats mostly hardware failure. I remember loosing a 6Gb drive and was rather upset at the time.

    This is wrong!

Both option receives insider builds, but Skip Ahead goes straight to RS4 development, while Active Development stays on RS3 until it is ready and released.

People who choose Skip Ahead, won't ever see the finalized RS3, but instead see new features that are going to be introduced in RS4.

HW, specially disks is another story but that's what backups are for. By properly maintained I meant more like: "Don't screw it yourself or let 3rd party programs do it" + " don't force it to be W7 because it isn't". If one want's it to be W7, use W7 nothing wrong with it.

Yep, I have lost many TB of data because of hardware failure. All were Seagate drives. Never going to buy them again. My WDs are going strong still 10 years later, though they should have died by now. :)

If that's true I'll have to download ISO of final Rs3 to keep it as a base for further builds of Rs4, need be.

Yes, I recommend you have an ISO available with at least 16251.0. You can always slip stream all the revision updates (cumulative updates) into that image. I think we have a guide here somewhere on that.

Yeah, 40 MB drives were able to keep a lot back then but there were tape drives for backups. At one time I used a VHS player/recorder to store backups. Having to go thru dozens of floppys was a pain.
