I was wondering what you were talking about. I saw you posted both. Sounded like I skipped to a newer version one day later. Yes, I skipped. I forgot to change the setting.

You forgot to change the setting, too?
Didn't forget ... I'll have both, just not on separate partitions, but separate Macrium Images. At least until I get another computer.

No. Forgot nothing. I have two separate Insider partitions. One is set to Fast Ring, other I set to Fast Ring and Skip ahead. Both before I did the new build update.
Sorry for any confusion, but I double quoted asking Andre.

I see. Can't fit a dually even if on your spinner?

why are people still going the route of downloading iso and up's? I have found it will update fairly easily without all the extra steps. Am I missing something here?

You are lucky. In 4 of the last 5 updates, including from 16241>16251, I have had to use the ISO since the 'normal' method didn't work. After the download and all the prep and such, I would get the 'restart' button. After restarting, it would work for a while and just fail at various points in the process, rebooting to the previous version saying 'oh, we couldn't do the upgrade'. In all these cases, simply upgrading-in-place with the ISO worked fine.

Incidentally, if anyone needs to use the ISO to upgrade, you don't need to burn it to DVD/USB - just mount it in File Explorer and run setup.exe from there.

I have never had a problem with finding folder in windows.old. If you use the EXT:ESD search, you'll find it --- unless you've done a cleanup after your download of the build. The folders vary, remember.
I have also found the folder, but something is missing, because I have never successfully made an ISO from that folder in .old. UUPtoISO seems to be working, but the resulting ISO has never been usable for me.

I run Insider on separate SSD and it's only 128 GB. I could put one of this skip / non - skip on my primary SSD (525 GB) but for now don't want mess Insider with working system..

About 2MB of code. For what, I have no idea. Functionally, right now, it's virtually the same. I see no difference.

I get an error when trying to create an ISO from the Windows.old /SD/download otherwise I would not have complained about it :) Don't bother to try to figure out why or post more comments here as I have moved the issue to the UUP tutorial (where it belongs). Just be aware that I followed the UUP tutorial and it did not work. In the meantime, a Google search provided a site for the 16251 ISO in case I need it later:

“Hey Cortana, lock PC.”, “Hey Cortana, restart PC.”, “Hey Cortana, turn off PC.”, “Hey Cortana, sign out.”
