It's a NO GO for Windows Spotlight for me. No matter what I try I am stuck with the same picture. Even resetting and re-registering the whole ContentDeliveryManager, deleting all assets and settings, gets me back to the same state as before.
ContentDeliveryManager seems to work great as it downloads some assets straight away after deleting the old ones. But none of the files are background pictures. Seems the problem is in the lock screen itself, or somewhere halfway between the lock screen and the ContentDeliveryManager.
Sometimes I wish I had the full Windows source code and all non-public documentation.
I have also noticed that, when I do some personalization customization, it does not stick, or it sticks for a while, but suddenly some settings revert to defaults, no matter in which position the switches are in Settings. Playing with the switches back and forth a couple of times, gets things working again.
Example: I disabled app suggestions in START. They disappeared, but after a few days they reappeared. Settings still states I have suggestions disabled. After I enabled suggestions and disabled them again, the suggestions disappeared from START. I find a lot of these kinds of small glitches all over the place in current build.
EDIT: Just when I was typing this, App suggestions reappeared to START. Hahhah, damn it!!!
I'll mosey on over to 16251 after the CU cumulative installs, but I haven't had Spotlight for quite some time with my Insider builds. In fact in this build my boot screen is a solid accent color of my desktop wall. Sign-in screen as well. My lock screen shows my chosen pic, though.
Everyone ready for the showdown today?
Time to reboot......
Hahahah!
...another thing I noticed is that my router crash when I reboot my IP machine on current build. This is crazy!
Update: I think this is because of Visual Studio Beta messing around with Hyper-V virtual switches. I disabled one Switch, and now my network does not crash anymore. Interesting these Beta bugs.
