How are you accessing the keyboard(s)?

EDIT: AHAH! I see what you mean. You are accessing the keyboard from the system tray. From there I always get the Touch Keyboard.

What you want is the On-Screen Keyboard, which you find in START.

Press START --> Type Onscreen --> Press ENTER

    OR

Press START --> Navigate to "Windows Ease of Access" --> Click "On-Screen Keyboard"
I prefer to use keyboard in system tray and earlier this could be changed but not now. The button is grey. Of course I know the On-Screen Keyboard but it is not pop-up capable and not very useful. I can go on, maybe this problem will be solved in future.

Yes, we need to report this to MS, if we can't figure out a work around.

Two shots. First is Fast without Skip Ahead. Second is Fast with Skip Ahead. Both physical builds, x64, same machine. Multi-boot.

    @f14tomcat thanks for the screenshots.

The Release version is now 16251.0 while the Skip Ahead version is 16251.1000 and will soon become 170xx.1000. Meanwhile the Release version should go from revision 0 to about 20-100 before final release to the general public.

After Windows has been officially released, Fast Ringers on the Release builds will also start receiving 170xx-builds which should be released for the general public in spring 2018. :)

Pics are nice sometimes. I decided to take one of the physicals and set it to Skip before they pull the plug and no more users can opt in to it.

I think I posted this yesterday, it show the ISOs and different names and sizes.

I still have the button there...but I guess the registration will fail.

Yes you did, and that is another screenshot that helps explain this a bit more.

The release build is 16251.0, the version is still 1703 until release, when they will call it 1709 or whatever. Let's not mix up the terms 'version' and 'build'. This business is confusing enough as it is...

That is the Skip Ahead version that will pretty soon become 17xxx builds. Right now all builds are almost the same.

Your Windows will now receive cumulative updates until release, then you have to re-enter Fast Ring to start getting the 17xxx builds. (or maybe you automatically stay in fast ring, either way you don't get the early 17xxx builds yet)

    Maybe it's this:

    Attachment 145884

    that makes difference.
    slicendice said:
    Yes, that is the difference!
    Thanks, guys.

Ok. "Almost the same" meaning prerelease has more features, therefore is less stable? I thought that's what slow ring was for.

I've always been fast ring. Live life in the fast lane.
