I have Malwarebytes (paid) and AVG (free).
You should use only 1 realtime AV, you already have 2, Malwarebytes and AVG.

The licence is for 365 days, but I imagine, it will keep extending with updates.
It is probably the same method like with Windows 10, to keep old versions dying.
Kaspersky Secure Connection is VPN, 200 MB by default, 300 MB when you register.

Thanks, but I have no need for K VPN. I already have one, paid, lifetime, unlimited.

Yeah. Shawn posted a direct DL link. I installed and couldn't get it off fast enough!

His link was the real thing, the screen was just the scan. I think that's been around a while.

I am seriously impressed, compared to other free AVs, KAF is not missing anything.
Settings allow to customize everything, that an advanced user might want to.

Not to mention, it is light, like really light, it has got 1% CPU usage at all times, even when playing a game, watching HD video and browsing internet simultaneously, unlike WD, which spikes up to 50% or more.

Though, you might want to "Disable Encrypted connection scanning" to avoid replacing SSL certificate.

The best part for me, it is the only AV, which was able to install and run with my strict settings. Respect.

An account is not required, only if you want more data on the bundled trial VPN.
I agree, I used this years ago -KIS and I thought it was a great AV. I finally got the Download from Shawn's last post and it was a direct DL. I may try it if we get a build tomorrow.

I think I am sticking with WD for now. I hate those "Free" 365 days AVs a la Avast. Also if it's pestering with countless popups nags I think I will pass. I could make a Macrium Reflect backup and try it though (maybe at work today).

PS. Does anyone has a link to an offline installer? I hate those stubs with passion.

I already get Kaspersky Total Security 'free' from my UK bank. Only the direct download link above works for me in the UK.

I prefer a 'belts and braces' approach so I also use MS defender periodic scanning, Malwarebytes (not real time) and AdwCleaner.

I'm surprised nobody has commented on the potential vulnerability of Kaspersky being a Russian company. I expect it depends whether you have concerns whether the backdoors into your PC are via the NSA or FSB.
