Features removed or Deprecated in Windows 10 Fall Creators Update

Just wow. That makes little sense to deprecate that. It provides the best way to make a Windows disk image in a .vhd container that you can then mount directly in Windows with a drive letter to browse files/folders.
I also use Macrium Reflect, but I still make periodic images with Windows Backup and Restore (Windows 7), to ensure that I can still access my image archives in Windows in case my 3rd party software ceases to function someday. Macrium uses a proprietary container .mrimg, that you need Macrium to mount.
3rd party programs can become acquired and then become abandonware. A good example is the former Power Quest Drive Image. It was acquired by Symantec, incorporated into Norton Ghost, which was then discontinued. I used PQDI/Ghost since the Windows 2000 days, up until Windows 7.
You have to obtain a copy of the end-of-life app and install it, just to be able to mount and read any old images.
I think something this critical should remain supported by the native OS.
I used to love Power Quest tools until Symantec destroyed it. Fast and reliable tools until they became Norton Ghost.
I also agree that basic native OS supported backup features should not be removed from Windows ever!

I think you need to take to Twitter.
I think so too! HAHAHA! I just tried latest Paint 3D, and it's still as useless as it was before. Nothing 3D about it at all. You can't do 3D on a 2D plane unless you have 3 x 2D planes.
Totally useless tool.
Paint classic on other hand is small and useful. It does exactly what it is supposed to. I use it almost every day!

Microsoft Paint?
I use that all the time.
Same here. I use it for both editing images and also 'drawing' quick technical diagrams to explain concepts.
System Image Backup (SIB) Solution
We recommend that users use full-disk backup solutions from other vendors.
Are we talking about Backup and Restore (Windows 7) here?
I hope not although it does seem to read that way.
On a slightly related note... there has been talk in other threads of the OS (W10) being able to determine the hardware being used and so, if the hardware is deemed incompatible, no further upgrades are offered.
I wonder if its possible to modify that information to fool and prevent Windows Update forcing unwanted upgrades ?

Maybe a compromise would be in order, Paint 2D app with a classic mspaint's functionality, it is easy.
Two items I'm puzzled about, sync your settings and ..., surely those are still widely used..
If I understand it correctly, people might be able to sync Windows settings without using MS account.

Glad you like it - been using it for a couple years - very reliable.

Paint.net still gets fairly frequent updates so it should be around for the foreseeable future.

A shame about MSPaint, I use it at least twice each morning Mon-Sat largely due to its simplicity and speed in accomplishing what I need.
