Microsoft cuts off Windows 10 support early for some PCs
-
Joan, it's just for some versions of the Intel Atom, (Clover Trail), processors used mainly in small footprint netbooks. Intel are dropping support for them so microsoft, has to work around this as the newer windows versions use software modules that he older drivers for the atoms are incompatible with and Intel won't write the drivers to get things to work

Thanks for the explanation Nigel, as I said I just skimmed through the thread and didn't follow any links so didn't really understand the ins and outs of it all.
John's Toshiba only got the Creator upgrade on Friday but there were no problems. There's more problems at the moment with the Internet here but hopefully after getting the latest BT router things should get better when it's finished settling down. :)

My ancient Toshiba Satellite Pro C650 got the Creators Update yesterday.
It took ages to download and install, but it seems to be working properly. :)
