That's all there is. No one is saying there is an update coming down now. It is just that the new option that is available. The options determine which branch you want to take, release or prerelease. Read the announcement in the Feedback Hub to properly interpret the options. A lot more than apps is involved. Also, there is temporary irreversibility about the choice you make (even if it is the default) so you should pay attention to this one.
This new option is primarily to receive early updates to inbox apps in the fast ring as it happened before.
I just chose the Skip-Ahead option. The way I see it is that as long as I don't forget to make my Macrium images first I should be OK.
Yes, but they are forking fast ring into release versus pre-release tracks.
