OMG!!!! THEY FIXED ONEDRIVE!!!! WE CAN SEE ONLINE FILES LOCALLY WITHOUT ACTUALLY DOWNLOADING THEM! WHOOOHOOO!!! FINALLY IT HAPPENED!
Sorry for shouting this out, but this is HUUUGE!
I am also sorry if I am late to the party, but I have not been looking at insider builds for several months!
Not necessary to be an Insider.
You can view online files in OneDrive with released to the general public version 1703 Build 15063 without downloading them..

How?

How? I don't know. If I want to read a text file it just opens, pictures just open etc, Not sure about videos though, I'll have to play one then do a search on my HD for it.

One question, when you look at "Properties", how much space on the disk is occupying the Onedrive folder?

I think it's different from Files on Demand, plus I did a comparison and these three options in Onedrive and in the context menus don't appear in build 15063.483:

Not a lot

So the files are downloaded to your PC and are taking up space, I think that's the difference with Files on Demand, I have 10GB on Onedrive, but in the disk is only occupying 16KB, and I can see all my files, when I click, for example in a photo, this is downloaded and opens automatically and after viewing it I can use the "Free up space" option in context menu so that it no longer occupies space on the disk, but I can still see that image in my Onedrive folder.
