It depends. However, if you are not on a recent enough build UPP will download everything.A differential download package contains only the changes that have been made since the last time you updated your device, rather than a full build. An update on our Unified Update Platform (UUP) - Windows Experience BlogWindows Experience BlogIt’s also important to note that Windows Insiders may not get a differential download packages even if we ship them. A baseline build has to be set for differential download packages and if that baseline build is newer than the build Windows Insiders are updating from (in the case where they are not on the latest flight) – they will receive a larger download.
In those countries with a crappy internet connection the ideal is return to the old method since the size of the download is much smaller than the download of a complete ISO, in fact, that was one of the reasons why Microsoft changed to UUP, UUP would be ideal for those countries if the installation process were not so long.
I will stand by my original post it had a source and was not based on assumption.StatCounter puts Windows XP share at just over 11 percent. XP's share in the United States is lower, 6.5 percent, according to StatCounter. [Click on image for larger view.] StatCounter's worldwide desktop operating system data shows Windows XP trailed only Windows 8.1 and Windows 7 by the end of March 2015.Apr 8, 2015
Windows XP Usage Still Strong at 250 Million Users -- Redmondmag.com
4.5% lower in the US that is still 6.5% of users in The US. Not everyone that lives here is rich.
What is this nonsense? Every user choose to run whatever OS and version they want (even Windows 10 users can block ALL updates). Does it really matter how many use which OS or who is right about the numbers?
I know many who still run MS-DOS 6.22(and even older), Windows 3.11 and NT 3.51. So what? These computers have specific tasks and there would be absolutely no point in upgrading the OS. They simply just work without a glitch on very old or simple very cheap hardware.
Personally I currently run Windows 10 (Latest release Preview), Windows Server 2012 R2, brandless Linux built from source, Ubuntu, Android, DOS, MenuetOS and KolibriOS...and many more. I bet this usage is not logged anywhere in the stats.
EDIT: Oh, forgot to mention that I also run Amiga Workbench (multiple versions) too.
