    The Build numbers for the Insider Preview are a thousand higher, e.g. 16251 versus 15063 for the RTM. To me the extra thousand signifies a test version and possibly a future build.

    Thing is they don't on the preview ring. You get the version number which will be released to the general public a week later than you get it.
