Hi! You were pleasant to me when I barged in a week ago and posted off topic on this forum. I still don't know where to post this but I found a solution to the "class not registered" issue which has been occurring in WMP since 16215.

At the recommendation of a poster at the "windows feedback hub" (who said the issue had to do with a 32 bit as compared to 64 bit EXE file in WMP) I changed the ownership of the WMP exe file in the X86 version of WMP to get access to it then deleted it and replaced the version I just deleted with the WMP exe file I copied from next door in Program files/Windows media player. FLAC files now play in WMP when I double click on them without WMP being pinned to the taskbar and left open. Also, WMP is once again my default player for FLAC files.

    I hope this makes sense.

Thanks to all for putting up with me and their assistance.
Thanks for the compliment, Copper, but the Announcement threads are generally a catchall for what is/is not happening with the current Build. If anyone had had an issue with your post, they would have told you where it should have gone.

Also, thanks for the solution; it's always good to follow up when one finds a solution to a problem. It gives those who have the same problem information on how to solve it.

So, thanks again for posting the solution.

I really think it's a case of being spoiled by so many relatively strong builds in the IP program. When one comes along with major bugs on their systems--showstoppers, even--I think it's easy for them to forget it's all beta software--We all get frustrated at some point, though, certainly. It's a healthy weeding out of the boys and girls from the men and women, so to speak...

That's something each and every of us agreed upon when opting in to be an Insider. Windows Insider program is a public beta / pre-release test program, keyword being public; we are not only free from any non-disclosure agreements forcing us to keep our mouths shut whatever our experiences are, we are instead if not obligated but at least encouraged to share the experience, be it sharing with Microsoft using Feedback Hub where anyone can see it or with fellow geeks on our forums.

I have been really surprised seeing how some of our members have posted things like "This and that is not working, I'm done being Insider". What did these members expect? An issue and bug free new build every week, continuous new features, problem free Windows installation?

Being a Windows Insider means that you are prepared to get challenged. Sometimes there's a winning streak, several builds without any major issues, sometimes it feels as if Allah, Buddha, God, Shiva & the rest of the heavenly geeks had all together cursed Microsoft and us Insiders by offering a build that is almost impossible to install and crashes as soon as you reach desktop. That's part of the game, that's what we agreed when opting in.

It's OK to complain, of course. It's OK to share your disappointments and issues, however small and minor that bug that annoys you is according to another geek. But, in my sincere opinion, each of us should remember that it was I myself / you yourself who agreed to test a pre-release build. The cause for your inconvenience might just be The Bug, the one Microsoft is keenly awaiting feedback from. Therefore, logically, you should share it.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. When one reports a major issue that has been occurring since the first RS3 build and nothing is done about it, this can irritate some users. My machine will not awake from sleep in any build past 15063. The same settings and even one clean install did nothing. So I report it every time it happens. What happens is that my machine will go to sleep but when I bring it out of sleep it restarts, BSOD's and then MS wants to know what happened. I told them every time plus used the Feedback Hub. So I may well be one of the members you speak of, but I keep going back thinking that just maybe it will be fixed in the next build, but it never is. Why Hibernation is now default is beyond me. I use an SSD and am not going to waste all of that space and it does not work either. I will go at least one more build but there comes a time when you are running against the wind.

I'm with you on this. I have created a list of "to do things" after each update and this is one of them.

I have been asking for a "Select All" option on Disk Cleanup since day 1. No luck so far. Now I see they have a new clean up under storage, so I'm guessing Disk Clean may soon fall by the way side.

Insider builds can be frustrating as all get out at times. I often think I'll just boot to the RTM drive and quit screwing around with the newer beta builds. This usually lasts about 15 minutes and I'm right back in the deep end of the pool again.
