When I checked this I noticed something I had not seen before.

When did that (the refresh icon I believe) come into play, and what exactly does it do?

It does this (actually the "refresh" is not clickable)

When you click the Check for Updates, the green check mark goes away...

I think I just noticed it today, also. Although not required, I did restart after this update had installed. Maybe that triggered it. I really have no other idea, and really really do not want to speculate.

I had the 7/3 SDK for XAML listed as failed like you do before I initialized the prerelease update install, but after the prerelease installed I have what is seen below where that SDK failed once again.

The green checkmark has always been there on mine.

I'm getting the update on the Lappy, but my desktop reports:

"There were some problems installing updates, but we'll try again later. If you keep seeing this and want to search the web or contact support for information, this may help: (0x800704cf)"

Hi Wyn. Mine wouldn't update at first either. Didn't get an error message but sat and spun for the longest time. After a reboot it downloaded/installed.
