Well, then I'll be the first to make a sign and stand in line, for MS releases an ISO right after the slow ringers get the update. The last I knew anyway. It makes no sense to me unless there's significant reason MS has for a system to be used with an old build on it. I haven't heard them give any.
That's the beauty, Hippsie. Microsoft hasn't forbidden us to use a self-created ISO to clean install new Builds. In fact, Kari, creator of "ESD to ISO" and "UUP to ISO" has received a Windows Insider MVP award!

Have there actually been any Builds released through the Slow Ring lately? So far, I don't recall an announcement in Windows 10 News, and I think Shawn would announce it?

Wyn. did you actually read what I posted? Announcing Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 16232 PC + 15228 Mobile Insider - Page 30 - Windows 10 Forums

Firstly, no one can make the ISO unless the download completes, although there have been some that say they can as of late. But at what point is that?

Yes, Kari's UUP to ISO is absolutely great. No doubt, but not 100% fail-proof. Why? We don't live in a perfect world with perfect systems or methodology.

Of course I'll let Kari speak for himself, but I'm sure he's man enough to admit that.

I stand corrected here. I guess 16193 is the latest ISO available.

The answer to all this silly discussion on isos is blooming simple.

Release an iso (for current version) once upgrade for next version is available.

This way, most will upgrade via usual system but those who have had issues can use iso. For sure, there will be some who will just wait for Isos but no big deal as they are still testing Windows 10.

Without providing a link I want to simply state that I've found a so-called warez site that can provide, among many other ISO's, a Combo with all those editions except the Chinese and on an ISO that can be burned to a single standard DVD for build 16226. The code is only 300MB more than my own 16232 ISO No doubt 16232 is now up though I haven't checked There simply is no reason Microsoft can not provide a Combo ISO of up to date Insider builds on a single ISO. The warez ISO is completely clean and I've used it and lived to tell the tale.

My sentiments too. UUP (in my opinion quite unnecessary) is just the part of all testing and a lot more testing can be done if upgrade actually succeed ! I spent two days trying to troubleshoot this last failure to update and finally succumbed and used ISO I made to update. In the mean time computer was practically unusable and I had to use my 2 other "spare" OSs (W7 and Mint) to do any actual work.

Sorry, but even your post amendment doesn’t make sense IMO. Yeah, "IF" one can get it to download first of all. How many times have we seen "Stuck at 30%" then fail? Or "Hung at 78%" then fail? And continuing on after that clicking the "Try again" button a million times only to be denied. And/or other failures.

Like I said, I'm grateful that Kari and others worked hard to create the UUP to ISO method. Absolutely not putting down this method whatsoever. I’m quite sure Kari and others will admit that it’s not 100% fail-proof. I’ve seen some that say it didn’t work or the ISO failed upon install. Not very often, but it happens.

e.g. During this last upgrade install I performed the method which failed the first time. Double checking my input I found no error on my part. The second attempt did succeed. Now I sit and wonder if the ISO is good for install. Never had to use one for clean install or use it to upgrade, but just for the sake of learning I may try it if time allows. I shall try DISM to see if that works first.

“By the time you go thru all that, the next build would be out”? What? In this instant day and age? MS has our Insider email addresses with digital license linked to the account. Within minutes of a failure we could sign into an Insider page to start an automated process to show failure and they would send a link to an ISO download or even expose one on that page. In fact no one can’t get to any Insider ISOs unless they are a registered Insider.
    Objections noted......
