Ok, thanks! I got worried because of the words insider and slow ring in the description. Anyway, it somehow installed. It was gigantic. Thought it would be all smoother after creators update. Not I guess. Didn't see any weird effects yet. Only Word started for some reason by itself after logging in. And I got a notification I should backup my certificates. Which was actually a good idea, so I did. Must be something from this latest update, before it never asked.

Not sure what is going on here. Is this for all computers - or only some? Still can't get it to install on my i5 Desktop, but on my weaker Notebook installed very quickly without problem. Trying a direct download from catalog.update.microsoft.com (standalone installer) but so far it just says - for a long time now - copying packages to Windows update cache...starting to wonder if I am trying to force an update that is not for my computer....worried I might cause problems/crash/or something...should I cancel and let it be?????

Okay...unless someone can reassure me...I think I am going to cancel in a minute...too worried I am just going to give myself a load of trouble ....and hope cancel causes no problems

The thing is I am - for obvious reasons - in the 'current business branch'. Can anyone tell me what I just got pushed through?
Being on CBB just defers Features Updates, not cumulative updates like this one. For that in 1703 Pro there are other options in Settings > Update & Security > Windows update > Advanced options:

'A quality update includes security improvements. It can be deferred for this many days:'
    (0-30, default is 0)

    'Pause Updates'
'Temporarily pause updates from being installed on this machine for up to 7 days'.

    Hi!

This I know. Just worried about the kind of update I got this time. First of all it's completely out of sync with the monthly update cycle, then there was something mentioned about insiders and not at last it was huge. Anyway, I understood from someone else here that it's a 'normal' update after all...

    Thanks for your reply!

Windows as a service is actually a full days task in an average household nowadays. Luckily I have an iPad and some other stuff.

Nothing showing here via a standard WU check. Is that good or bad

I live not far from you and got it around 11:00 AM today. Try restarting the PC and trying again.
