I sorted out my situation and upgraded from 193 to 226. I did three things and I am not certain if they helped or not.
My fatal error was related to access to msvcrt.dll so I changed permissions and added full control to Users and Administrators.
Secondly I mounted the ISO and chose to keep files only
Thirdly I powered down at 30%; then rebooted.

At that point it upgraded but after doing its thing my graphic driver defaulted to a windows generic. Nevertheless I am on 226 now.

If Insider Builds trash the motherboard, then it's at fault, not Windows.
Ha, that's why I used the chuckle emoticon, I know the hardware is to blame, not the software.

And I'm back to 193. 16226 give me hard time to install, have to use UUP2ISO and perform in-place upgrade. Just to find out that a lot of non English languages are broken. Almost impossible to type anything, neverending errors and BSOD at last.

Send feedback and have a problem after checking everything that went wrong and wanted to to type some more at "Other" I wasn't able to do...

    MS really?

    !6266 Installed nicely after

    1) Tried once again to enter safe mode using tweaking.com. It failed with a GSOD (twice) but I was able to reset Windows to 16215

    2) From there I mounted the 16226 ISO and ran setup.exe.

Now its installed and testing is resuming. Remote Desktop Connection is not working for some reason. But Hyper-V is working OK.

I like where the Edge is heading. Working with pdf and epub... Didn't have much oportunity to check all the rest, thou.

This is from Betanews. Should be added to release notes (if they are there , I didn't notice it)

As for the other known issues in this build, they are:
If you pinned any websites to your taskbar, those pinned websites won’t work. You will have to in-pin and re-pin your websites to the taskbar.
If you have certain languages installed, ctfmon.exe will go into a crash loop and typing on the Start menu and UWP apps will become impossible. Currently, the list of impacted languages we’re aware of is: Kiswahili (Kenya), Basque (Spain), Armenian, Estonian, Romansh (Switzerland), Scottish Gaelic, Serbian (Latin), Bulgarian, Serbian (Cyrillic), Irish, Latvian, Macedonian, Zulu South, Norwegian (Norsk), Hausa (Latin), Albanian, Afrikaans, Georgian, Uzbek (Latin), Slovenian, Bosnian (Latin), Konkani (India), Malay (Brunei), Xhosa (South Africa), Bangla (Bangladesh), Kinyarwanda (Rwanda), Australian English, Galician (Spain), Azerbaijani (Latin), Kazakh, and Lithuanian. The workaround is to uninstall the impacted language via Settings > Time & Language > Region & Language. From the list of languages, remove the ones from the list, if it’s the only one you have installed please install a language close to your language that’s not in the list.
In some cases, Action Center appears completely transparent making it hard to see notifications.
When attempting to install this build and you reboot to kick off the process, your machine may appear to complete a normal reboot but not begin the actual install of the build. Running the Windows Update troubleshooter via Settings > Update & security > Troubleshoot may alleviate this issue.

I'm rolling back to CU again. No games work properly on this build for me. They all have random freezes and hangs that have to do with the GraphicsPerfServ terminating unexpectedly and crashes pointing to CoreMessaging.dll.
