Still can't update from Build 193. But my 215 partition updated smoothly.

OK - I checked for updates using 16125 and it found 16226 ok but I noticed that instead of automatically downloading updates, it now has a button you need to click a button to download now which is a good change imo. But is this new, or have I simply missed this before?

According to an update from a Microsoft representative on this Microsoft Answers thread, this build also includes a fix for those of us with old Broadcom 440x network devices which currently don't work with Creators Update.

Today we released a build that includes the fix for the Broadcom 440x. This fix was released to Windows Insiders who are signed up to receive prerelease builds on the "FAST" ring. For more information you can see this blog:

    https://blogs.windows.com/windowsexp...74uBzOxpHTx.97

As I said this prerelease build has the fix to allow the Broadcom 440x to function as before. After we receive feedback from Windows Insiders to ensure that we are not breaking anything else we will look at including this in the Creators Update, which will go out to non windows insiders.

I still cannot promise any dates or releases. But this is a big milestone.

If any of you are windows insiders and have tried out this build let us know if it works or not. I have personally installed this build on a Dell Inspiron 9300 in my office, but it is great to get more feedback from the community.

Smooth, totally unattended upgrade from 16199 to 16226 after the 16215 fiasco. All looks good so far.

The update completed for the VMware VM. It is still in progress for the Virtualbox VM.

Unfortunately, I still don't know where MS has put the Ubuntu on the store so I can download it. When will this be available (seriously)

    Goodnight for now.

Arggh - downloaded of updates go to 98% and gave up. PC now reloading again.

Edit:- it did not need to redownload everything - it quicky got to 100% this time - now at install phase.

Edit 2- Arggh again, got 50% through installing - gone back to downloads again but quickly back to install.

It just seems to forget where it is but recovers quickly.

I cannot type in metro apps and start menu anymore.

    I'll try disabling WerFault.exe
