    Hi,

Can't remember clearly any more but beta of Win95 had some parts of Norton utilities incorporated. When official W95 came out, those parts were missing. As internet was practically non existent, only later I found out why. MS had a fall out with Norton but bought that part of the company shortly after. I remember waiting in front of a store in Toronto until 2AM when sales started, went home and spent rest of the night installing it instead of my beta version. That's when I found out that some parts and utilities were missing.
Excellent memory, Count. You should have no doubts about it, 100% correct.

    Cheers,

    Cortana pops over Screensavers too!

(I noticed, classic screensavers fill both monitors while the default Windows 10 ones only cover the main (#1) monitor)

I am working with a more elegant 100% working solution now, got the idea when thinking the workaround I posted more thoroughly. It still needs testing but looks good.
So wait for a bit then?

At the moment it's an idea that in theory should work. First test shows it also works in practise, although I need to test all possible scenarios before being sure enough to post the results.

Crashes on my laptop during installation and reverses back to the previous version.

I think my laptop finally isn't compatible anymore with Windows 10. This laptop came with a freshly released Windows Vista, that's how old this one is. :)

    Sounds good!

Please post about how it went in the actual thread: When Insider build upgrade fails - A Workaround - Windows 10 Forums

No, I think it is this build. I too have a test laptop that is Vista vintage and it continues to be more reliable than newer computers I use for testing. This build has borked many people's computers, so hang tight til a new build is dropped.

I also have a laptop that came with Vista. Not using it for Insider builds, but it has 10 CU and runs without problems.
