When Windows 95 came along, I remember going up to 8 MB RAM.

    It wasn't 11x 5.25 inch Floppies either - It was 13x 3.5" 1.68MB DMF format floppies, or a new-fangled CD-ROM!
I still have original W95 CD.

    I have a win 95 upgrade disc, and Windows 95, 3.1 and 3.11 on floppies (3.5”)

But no floppy drive to read them !?

Those DMF floppies weren't very reliable either.

    Cheers,

Those are just ones I keep on disk on the machine, rest are on a backup disk.

My earliest computer experience was as a draughtsman....going from a board to a CAD packaged Hewlett Packard ME10....with nobody to ask for advice as it was a completely new concept at the time....self learn was the only way.
This was in the early nineteen eighties as I recall.

Yeah, AutoCAD on a 286, punch coordinates in and go get a coffee while it draws the lines.

Why? That is bewildering to me. If I even found an old win xp or me disk, I would destroy it immediately!!! I have little to no interest in inferior os's. So I am curious what the draw is to keep such disks? Hell, I loved win 7 ult., as it never let me down. But I have zero win 7 software now days, as win ten has well surpassed it. So why would I keep it? Cheers.

Sentimental reasons and fond memories. XP was the best OS for a decade Until Windows 7 arrived. I like to run them in virtual sometimes.
