Can anyone point me to a download of this iso? Thanks so much!
Can anyone point me to a download of this iso? Thanks so much!
For the ISO it's kinda' DIY using this tutorial:
UUP to ISO - Create Bootable ISO from Windows 10 Build Upgrade Files Windows 10 Installation Upgrade Tutorials
I have 3rd party software installed, such as IrfanView, bit I do not have any 3rd party Anti-malware programs installed on the desktop itself. I have 2 VMs I use for testing those types of programs.
With regards to 3rd party software that I do have installed, they have all worked with everything build this fat, and when they do not, I report then to the respective developers. After all, that is why I am running a ßeta version of the OS in the first place. To test other applications and report problems to devs to give then a heads up on what to expect from future WinX build as well as an early lead on what they may need to change.
And in my case specifically, if the update had not successfully completed I was already planning to clean install, either directly, or else the previous build followed by an immediate update. Far more manageable than disabling apps to get the update to work.
Have been an W10 Insider from the beginning, 1-10-2014.....and have not missed a single version.
Have NEVER failed to Update 1st time......have never made or used an ISO.
Security used include Defender, Malwarebytes and Hitman Pro Alert.
After each update have made a System Restore....then a Disk Cleanup which includes deleting the previous iteration, this negates the possibility of a clashing of systems.....I then do another System Restore on the cleaned up version as a backup.
Well to get the UUP, you need the download. And I can't get it. So I need a link to an iso. Someone on here directed me to the insider site before where they were, but now I don't see it on the insider site. So I either need a new site, or maybe someone on here will have already made one they can upload. Thanks for the effort though.
Lol. I wish I was retiring soon. Still at least 15 years left....
Interesting that you mention the gateway. That was my first 80486-based machine, with the 486SX/25 processor. Maxed out to 32 MB RAM, and replaced the CPU with a 486DX/66 that would only run at 50 MHz instead of the 66 because the motherboard only supported multiples of 20 and 25 MHz.
That was also when I learned that Conner HDs (IMO, the best HAD manufacturer back then) in the 850 MB size refused to work on the same IDE channel as Abby other HAD, with the exception of another Conner 850, or its predecessor the Conner 425.
I was a kid then, well teen, and my folks bought that machine along with peripherals. Ond was a 14.4k modem that was back-ordered for 3 months, which, when it finally arrived, is when I first called into getting online (via dial-up BBSs).
Ran 95 on mine as well, then 98, then 98SE.
Then I built my first machine, based upon a Cyrix 486DX2/80 CPU with a shopping 64 MB of RAM. And I have been building since, although I have also inherited old hardware from my folks as they continue to buy preconfigured machines from OEMs.
As for DOS, yeah, I am an old hack at it, been doing it for a long time. These days, though, I have to occasionally consult references, as I have forgotten a lot of syntax, seeing as I do not use it nearly as much now as I did in the late 80s and early 90s. But I am sure there are plenty of members here who have used it longer than I have.
Thanks for the trip down memory lane lol.
Enough, back on topic for me, now.
The Insider builds posted are the ones released to the slow ring, not fast rings builds like this one.
I can upload one that I made using UUP2ISO somewhere and let you try that, but when I tried to use it I got error messages about .NET / vcredist closing (although that might have been related to the fact that I was trying to Clean install while the system was still in update mode) so take the .ISO I created with a grain of salt, or else let someone else post a certified working build, or give me until this evening until I can verify the .ISO I have does, in fact, work by testing in a VM.
UPDATE: I did a search on this site, and found the page that was given to me by fafhrd. But that site no longer does the most recent build. It's back to only having the older builds. So I am still in need of an ISO upload of this build if anyone would care to help me out. Thanks so much!
