I have noticed on several build when upgrading OS in hyper-v several times that it reachs 30% and goes to reboot. However for some reason, it fails to actually reboot. Shutting down session and restarting always kick starts it and off it goes again.

I've never seen a need to have same OS in dual boot...
I can tell you several good (really good!) reasons!

    • My ailing, low-end laptop does not manage video editing and encoding when booted normally. I have about 100 W10 videos on YouTube, when doing them I always have the same procedure: I capture videos on my normal main OS, then boot to same edition I have installed on a native boot VHD which is stripped down to boot using minimum services and start-up items only, leaving all possibly available resources to PowerDirector, my video editor of choice.
    • A gamer might want to do the same, have a duplicate W10 with all resources given to game of his / her choice.
    • A clever, careful user might want to duplicate his / her main OS for test purposes; test new software and devices on that spare duplicate OS without risking the main OS.
    • And so on...

In reading through many of the problem posts I see that trouble seems to be linked to the VM. I mentioned earlier that I had a refreshingly trouble-free upgrade install from 16199 to 16215, but I am on the hardware as opposed to virtual--and wondering why that might make a difference for people in upgrading to this build--if it does. It took about 30 minutes to download, which is only a bit longer than it usually takes, and the install time was the normal 30 minutes for me (as it is an upgrade, which always takes longer, but is nothing like the time it would take to install all of my applications and games every time...Yikes! That would take days!... Out of the question!) Just thought I'd pass along the info for comparative purposes in the hope that it might be a bit useful to someone.
My problems aren't linked to VMs, Walt. I probably have the most uncustomized machine in these forums. :) I test, considering that the normal person who can't delve into the deep inner workings of their systems. Which means I normally don't do anything other than "normal" stuff.

OK, home again. I'm tempted to fix the issues, but I am just as tempted to do a clean install of CU and go from there. It's been a while, and I know I would feel better of a clean install anyway.

    Decisions, decisions.....
I don't think a clean install would help my WiFi problem, John.

Yeah, but your curiosity would kill you if you weren't getting new builds
Nope! I'm willing to wait for another new Build in hopes it cures my WiFi problem.

I just tried to install it again and now I get the error message that says an update failed to download. Maybe they pulled this update?
I don't think so, Al. When I shut down my computer last night, I got an "Install Updates and Shutdown?". Not thinking, I went ahead and shut down.

This morning when I booted up, my desktop proceed to finish installing Build 16215 for the second time! (I had rolled back to Build 16199 yesterday.) So, I told it not to install any updates until June 17!

So, nope, doesn't look like they've pulled this Build.

I wasn't replying to you, I was replying to my ongoing saga of trying to get*my* machine running 16215

Not much there, almost nothing, any native way to increase transparency ?
My start menu is opaque, too--in the accent color. I found that in 16215 in my system that start-menu transparency only occurs when I select "full screen start menu"--non-full-screen start-menu transparency worked in previous builds, however.

Above is the screen shot I sent to Microsoft through the Feedback hub today. Below is a previous Insider-build screen shot in which start-menu transparency works.

Can't you use the router as a wireless repeater, and connect your Insider Preview machine to that router with an ethernet cable?
    I can do that!?!?!?

Those are very good reasons, Kari. I've been dual booting since W7 and installed W8 preview. I keep a solid, main-stay daily-use OS, then test and learn the next. When I trusted and was comfortable with 8/8.1, then 7 went and loaded 10 Insiders. When I trusted and was comfortable with 10 CU, then 8.1 went with 10 Insider builds in stead. The Fall edition will be my main stay and so on.

Another reason is that sometimes I swap personal files back and forth between partitions. Some report "polluting", but I never experienced that problem. However, I do use OneDrive often.
