Announcing Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 16215 PC + 15222 Mobile Insider
-
Started laptop at 15:45, Defender updates and Malwarebytes updates then Windows update to 16125. Completed successfully with a working machine @ 23:02. Edge doesn't like my preferences in settings so goes belly up. Wi-Fi OK so that's something. No People app on start list as mentioned previously. Feedback hub works.
Need a shave now as its been so long :)

I turned on transparency but none of that Acrylic stuff shows.
It's in the non-full screen start menu. Put something behind where the start menu opens, and you can see some vague shades behind it.

That's a hoop I'm not willing to jump through. Too much else to re-install. If I can't get 16215 installed over 16199, I'll just wait for the next build.
I have 16199 and it runs great. Installed easily too. I am in FAST ring, so I received 16215. I tried over 20 times to get it to installed, tried every suggested "trick" the 10 Forum listed as well as Google "tips". First it didn't install after re-start, reverted back to previous version (16199) next few times green screen came up and said it could not find boot drive I tried other suggestions, always ran troubleshooter, which fix some corruption. Now when first trying to install it gave error message and stopped dead in its tracks. I spent two days trying to get 16215 installed with NO luck !! I am extremely annoyed at Microsoft to release such a buggy insider build that it won't install on HALF the Computers !! What the heck happened ??
i am so angry that I went back to 16199 (thanks to two MR full backups per day) and changed to SLOW ring, just to prevent me from receiving untested, non-installable, insider editions. Come on Microsoft, get your act together like "Professionals" !!

Not much there, almost nothing, any native way to increase transparency ?

Well, it's still in development. Remember when the new start menu was new? Not much you could do with it.. it's improved somewhat since then, but my guess is that we'll have to wait for full Acrylic support before they offer us tweaking bits.

Why get so angry. When you first signed up for the Insider versions, you were told that they could contain bugs, etc.
I am disappointed in this release, so far, but I certainly understand that things happen.

The attached screenshot is after I took the "update and restart" option from the start menu of the reset build 16199. It thought (i.e. emitted a message) that it had already updated to 16199. This behavior should definitely have been picked up before this thing saw the light of day. I will take the "update and shutdown" option next to see if I can bypass the inaccessible boot device error.

- does anyone have a spare copy of the iso for this build - my settings have gone haywire again..??

I just tried to install it again and now I get the error message that says an update failed to download. Maybe they pulled this update?
