Yes. Wifi to USB adapter requires drivers for wifi to be installed. Connection via Ethernet is usually far more stable (of course, Ethernet adapter also requires drivers, but these are far more stable - at least in my experience)
Yeah. But I don't think it matters because those USB adapters are going to be used on machines with OS installed anyway. Those generic ones are usually plug and play. I have one that even runs on Raspberry Pi without installing any driver.

Going back to the topic, someone mentioned that you have to run chkdsk after the upgrade. Last night, this 16215 was running okay on my PC after the update. But this morning when I fired it up, it goes to "Automatic repair" screen. So, I fired up the other OS on the same machine and run "Error checking" on it and it was fine after that.

Think now we're understanding each other (slowly :)). I'm using this one for all of my living room stuff tp-link.com/lk/products/details/TL-WA890EA it was dirt cheap (price of one USB wifi dongle) and provides stable connection for 4 devices.

    Attachment 138732
Oh, that's a nice one but a bit more complicated for setup. USB ones are just plug and play (pray ?).

Didn't you guys already use this program: voidtools finds any file in a second even between my 4 TB in HDDs.
Thanks, Count, but I shy away from 3rd party apps. It'll be a sad day when we can't find a file using the search in FE no matter how long it takes. With magilla's post I'm thinking it doesn't exist for some of us. (I have FE set to show all hidden)

In searching the web I found People should be here:

    C:\Users\User Name\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.People_8wekyb3d8bbwe

Most folders there are empty now. Looks as if MS has locked it out that way. In the "Settings" folder there is a roaming.lock file.

During install of this release, I receive an error stating Boot Drive Not Found. Is there a resolution? Installing to a SSD.

The solution I have for media players (that works in my house) is a dual-band router (access point) that is connected to the powerline adapter. All devices are hard wired to the access point. I only use wifi on phones and ipads.

Did you try F key (applicable to your machine) to get to boot options and manually select the boot manager?

I'm only batting .500 on my two test machines. My Dell Venue Pro was not able to continue the install after rebooting 30% into the install process following the first (successful) reboot. I see a new error code in the Update History: 0x80070643 ... goes off to look it up ... no obvious cause/fix I can see for this one. I'll try again and if it fails once more, I'll figure out a way to get an ISO and try it that way instead. The desktop install went without a hitch, though. Sigh.

Note added 6:00 or so later: I was never able to install 16215 on my Dell Venue Pro. Two failures with Windows Update, another with a failed upgrade install from the ISO (Thanks! @Kari). And a very surprising 4th failure with a clean install on that system, too. After the clean install, most of the drivers were missing (including not just the sometimes problematic Wi-Fi Dell 1537, but also NXP, chipset stuff, Intel HD graphics, and more). I couldn't use Cortana/voice during the post-install set-up, or the machine would hang indefinitely. Also, I couldn't get RDP to work properly on that machine, nor would WUMT work, either. It proved bollixed enough that I've temporarily dropped out of the Fast Ring on that machine, and into the Slow Ring for Insider Preview updates. Big changes in this update indeed -- too big and too bad for my poor little hybrid tablet. Ouch!

Final conclusion: thank goodness for Macrium Reflect. I booted to Kyhi's rescue disk, ran MR, and restored my most recent backup and got immediately back into action. Whew: dodged a bullet.

Just did a reset (saving personal files). Very helpful that I have the list of removed apps (around 80). Right now I;m installing build 16215 (25%). I will only re-install AOEMI Backupper Pro and then make a backup of the system currently. Will see how that works. I pretty much like the reset PC process now.
