I have a Chord 2Qute DAC which is connected to USB (Windows 10 64bit). As soon as the update installs, I can't play any audio through USB. I get an instant crash with the following screen.

4 times I've had to repair my PC using a windows image backup. I can't keep on doing this, how do I stop this download from breaking my PC?

Tried re-installing the Chord 2Qute driver, but that doesn't fix it.

Cumulative Update KB4020102 Windows 10 v1703 Build 15063.332 is downloading while I type this. I can't keep doing image restores. Please help?

I assume this bit broke my PC

    • Addressed issue where, after installing the Creators Update, audio output through external decoders no longer works.

I'll notify Chord as they may have had other users affected. Maybe they know a work around...

EDIT: I've found a fix. I was using jriver Media Centre and had the playback set to Digital Output(Chord async USB 44.1khz to 384khz (WASAPI) as I always have. By changing the playback to ASIO Chord Hugo 1.03(ASIO), no more blue screens and it works perfectly. Make sure you set the rates your DAC can handle in the DSP Studio.

Just posted this in case anybody else has the same issue and Googles it.

Just updated after a manual check... couple of things... The location icon when opening action centre has gone altogether when opening action centre, will see what happens during the day to see if it comes and goes and it should but trying Cortana it does... although for about 5 mins after the update Cortana did nothing. but seems OK now...

I did notice that this must have tried to update whilst in its "fast boot" shutdown state.... but failed everytime... Seems the last update did the same, failed once and then worked, so not sure if an issue?

Just need to run disk cleanup later to remove the windows.old folder now I cant roll back 45GB recovered lol

    UPDATE

Just to confirm it does look like the location icon does not appear now when you use action centre and does come and go as it should so maybe this update has fixed it...

First time in ages I've had any problem. I've lost the onscreen display for my soundcard volume contol. Complete uninstall/reinstall didn't work. Still, I'm overdue a complete reinstall of windows,

Hello this has been going on since the beginning of May.
I get Feature Update Windows 10 Version 1703 -- failed to update. It has tried several more time to update this but every time it says failed.
Other updates have come and installed correctly since with the latest being Windows 10 1607 KB3150513.
So my question is am I up to date or do I some how need to get the version 1703 to install.

    Thanks

@Barnaby44, a Features Update is quite different from other updates like KB3150513. A cumulative update patches a few files in your existing system, the Features Update is a full upgrade and installs a complete new system to replace the existing one. For most of us it works seamlessly, but a few have problems.

There are many possible reasons for an upgrade to 1703 to fail. It would be best to start a new thread of your own so we can investigate you specific problem. Include as much information as you can. Update your computer specs to show the make and model of PC, a screenshot of Disk Management would also help.
