    The 'People Bar'

If you are using the 'People Bar' but contacts are not pinning to the actual Taskbar, (only staying in the 'People Tray'), then...
in the Windows Registry, navigate to Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced\People,
in the right hand pane, double click the PeopleBand DWORD and toggle it's value to 1,
then, double click the PeopleBarCapacity DWORD and toggle it's value, in Decimal Base, to the number of contact icons you would like to show on the Taskbar.
(Make sure you have sufficient room on the Taskbar, or the later contacts will simply remain in the Tray)

To remove a contact from the Taskbar, simply right click and 'Unpin'

Note: every contact you open will automatically get pinned to the Taskbar until your capacity is full, whereafter, each additional invocation will remain in the Tray

    The 'People Bar' cont'd...

It's interesting to note that, unlike any other app, no matter which virtual Desktop you're on, the active contact will show as open by way of the Taskbar 'underscore',
and, when clicking on it from any 'virtual desktop', it will trigger you back to the desktop that it's open on.

    However,
You can still move the app to another Desktop:

Microsoft May Kill File History in Windows 10 Fall Creators Update.

Microsoft enthusiast WalkingCat spotted the following line in the accidental release of Build 16212:

"Making new backups with File History is no longer supported."

    Hi,

It's going to be replaced by "Timeline" as I understand it. Has MS been looking at Facebook for this name ??

    Cheers,

More info here. It looks more like a souped up System Restore tool (which may explain why MS keep defaulting to it being off).

It is not an image backup or file folder backup tool as far as I can make out from articles on web.

I sort of despair that MS seem to be totally blind to what users want in the backup area, and are opting for a sexy tool but forgetting plain basics. No wonder Macrium Reflect Free is a firm favourite and timeline does nothing to alter that as far as I can predict.

Don't mean to sound cynical, but this I have to see!

    Excerpt:

The Timeline feature essentially allows the user to rewind their system to a previous point in time, similar to how you would rewind a movie. Rewind back to the point in which you wish to resume from, and your system will restore itself as if it had never progressed passed that point.

No, it's not a backup system. Word has something similar to as when a file is opened, it offers to go back to where one left off. I'm thinking this is a feature that if one has, let's say, 4 programs open, one can turn back to that time for it to open all those programs at/on the same page (or whatever). This would be more of a business type feature. Wish I had it 15 or so years ago. I did have mine set up to open a few programs I used regularly, but boot took awhile on that ancient hardware we used.

The tool will be interesting but I still wonder if people will think of it as a backup tool and become complacent?

Probably. Some already think of System Restore as a backup.

Word and other MS Office programs have a backup feature where they save work in progress in adjustable time intervals. It's not very transparent and files are not easy to find if you don't know where they are stored but that system can't be used for everything, it would take too many resources and disk space.
I gave up on System Restore as it is but still use when fooling around with drivers. What I would like to see is ability to backup any file by making copy of same file, in same place and to just add .BAK to it automatically thru Right Click menu for instance. Ability to set some time interval would also be welcome.
