More info here. It looks more like a souped up System Restore tool (which may explain why MS keep defaulting to it being off).

It is not an image backup or file folder backup tool as far as I can make out from articles on web.

I sort of despair that MS seem to be totally blind to what users want in the backup area, and are opting for a sexy tool but forgetting plain basics. No wonder Macrium Reflect Free is a firm favourite and timeline does nothing to alter that as far as I can predict.

Don't mean to sound cynical, but this I have to see!

I'm thinking this is a feature that if one has, let's say, 4 programs open, one can turn back to that time for it to open all those programs at/on the same page (or whatever). Probably. Some already think of System Restore as a backup.

Word and other MS Office programs have a backup feature where they save work in progress in adjustable time intervals. It's not very transparent and files are not easy to find if you don't know where they are stored but that system can't be used for everything, it would take too many resources and disk space.
I gave up on System Restore as it is but still use when fooling around with drivers. What I would like to see is ability to backup any file by making copy of same file, in same place and to just add .BAK to it automatically thru Right Click menu for instance. Ability to set some time interval would also be welcome.
