A little more on Windows 10 Virtual Desktop Enhancer.

Choose Wallpapers for each Desktop, indicator on Taskbar plus, Quick Tip indicator, (as mentioned in earlier post).

A few Reg Tweaks make the experience more desirable:

    - Show Up windows instead of just desktop background in Task View:
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\MultitaskingView\AllUpView
under Explorer, you'll need to create the two sub-keys MultitaskingView and AllUpView,
in AllUpView create a new DWORD, name it Wallpaper and set it's value to 0
    (Results are immediate)

And, with a highly configurable mouse, 'Virtual Desktops' becomes a breeze!

Been testing this for some time now, I've not experienced any side effects with the exception:
If you restart Explorer or Explorer crashes, you simply need to right click on the Indicator icon and click Reload Settings.

Since booting up this morning, Windows Explorer search finds everything I am searching for as before, but shows This PC icon for every file it finds. Here I have searched OneDrive\Pictures for images with word Ten in filename:

To make it even more and more weird, exactly two files on my disks are still showing the correct icon / thumbnail when searching, a Ten Forums wallpaper and a Ten Forums icon file as seen in above screenshot. I have used quite some time now to search and check, absolutely everything except those two files mentioned on any disk is showing This PC icon for each and every file and folder in search results, regardless of file type (music, videos, documents, images etc.) or file / folder location. Opening a file from search results does not work, none of context menu options works.

Leaving search and browsing my PC in Explorer normally, all files and folders show their normal icons and behave in every aspect completely normally (cut / copy & paste, delete, rename, open). The issue is, nothing can be done with files and folders in search results, not even open properties.

When moused over those icons this is shown:

Usually this icon is only shown in Explorer's details pane when opening This PC:

I do not use nor do I have any reason to use any third party hacks, reg edits, tweakers, optimizers and such, all customizations being what is possible to customize using Settings and Control Panel alone.

    Any ideas?

Rebuilded, did not work. Maybe a repair install next...

It's only in search results which really makes it weird.

It seems every time I update my 15063 partition, Windows 10 Dual Boot goes bonkers and loses my dual boot information. Right now I'm stuck on 15063. Just haven't had time to look up the fix for it yet.

If it is dual boot windows, use Kari's recent tutorial.

... and when done, remember to export the boot menu as shown in Part One of that tut. Next time your boot menu goes bonkers just import the boot menu as shown in Part Three.

It's maybe time to ask mods to remove my badges and rep; an idiot user like me does not deserve them...

I killed Explorer process, deleted Icon Cache, restarted Explorer. Did not work. Some whisky and a cigarette in balcony enjoying the beautiful evening, only then I realized that instead of just restarting Explorer I should have restarted the PC.

Did that, icons and thumbnails now OK in search results.

    Signed,

    A noob
