I've never dual booted any other way but on the same hard drive, Robot. In fact, the one time I tried for two of 'em, it failed. Maybe things have changed in the intervening years?

This is a desktop, so no problem giving it a second drive. I may try it. Thanks.

Also, past HP laptops have had space for two drives and were replaceable if one failed. Not no mo', though! HP, in its infinite wisdom decided to make us buy a new laptop if we wanted more . . . that or send it in for an upgrade that cost more than the original laptop did!

Yup, but that's where it gets real interesting!

Booted to repair disc, chose proper drive, chose the proper target OS (IP) and it re-imaged the AU!
And, I still couldn't get to the Insider Preview.

I did reach into the IP from the AU side and un-did some wrongdoings!

I'm in now but things are pretty messed up and I gotta bring the AU back up to date too!

Windows 10 emerging 'Fluent Design', (aka Project Neon), ain't much to brag about, that is, until you slam a really bright, colorful wallpaper on your Desktop!

I disagree with this. If you dual boot, the efi or system partition resides on same drive as both OSs. The problem with having OS on separate drives is if you remove drive with those partitions, other cannot boot. It also makes image backups harder as you have to image across two drives. There is no reason I can think of apart from not having them on same drive apart from that if that drive fails, you lose both OSs but that is what image backups protect.

The problem arise when there is an upgrade. The boot manager goes out of whack. If what you are saying is true, then no one will post this issue.
I don't do automatic dual boot because of the problem it creates during an upgrade. I manually select a boot drive on boot up and pull out the other drive before attempting an upgrade. It's fixable I know but it's easier for me doing it my way.
And no, my OSes boots up by themselves. If you say it won't boot if you remove one drive, then that is the problem itself.
I create an image backup for each drive.
On my main PC, my main day to day OS is on M.2 SSD and the Insider Preview is on a regular SSD.
Been doing it for the past 6 years without a hiccup.

I have had to resort to using Outlook 2007 as Outlook 2016 won't function properly

    - not really ideal, but no other option..

    - is there a way to delete and re-install Outlook 2016, I don't fancy doing the whole Office 2016 suite again..??
    - oddly enough, the rest of my Standard Office 2016 installation works perfectly - only Outlook is playing up..
