[QUOTE=Lmbrt;1159221]No need to be so... patronizing.
Besides, the fact that someone is a test buff does not mean that others have no right to be primarily interested in getting more and more stable OS' and apps. After all there is enough room for all in the Programme...

I assure you, I was not intended to be being patronising.

Think about it - suppose MS stop bring out new options in Insider Programme, and spend say three months sorting out lots of current post-RS3 issues. Then they bring out new features - we then only have three months to comment/test new features which inevitably will have new bugs.

The consequences are either a new build will get released with lots of new bugs, or it would not be possible to release version on time, or we get less new features.

The only practical way to run the Insider Programme is basically how they do it now i.e. an initial reconfiguration where required for new features to be added, get the features out as quickly as possible, and consolidate all bugs as we get close to release. This model way of working has developed over (soon to be) five builds, and I see no reason why this should be changed.

On the last two releases, MS have learnt from previous builds where they kept bringing out new features to the last minute. Now there is a pretty definite cutoff after four months or so, and we go into primarily bug bashing mode.

    Thanks, point taken.

I only wander whether the rate of new features release could not be controlled a bit to slow down, in turn, the release of new builds of, say, a few months. Something like a New Features/Builds corollary to Moore's Law... This is purely academic, of course, and definitely NOT marketing-wise.
