I bought a couple of these, http://www.buyapi.ca/product/sd-mmc-card-reader/ Simple and easy to use on my PC's that don't have a card reader. I can boot from a bootable SD Card inserted in this adapter. I bought it so I could image Micros SD cards for my Raspberry Pi but use them for a lot more than that. I have an SD to Micro SD adapter I use with it. If only my laptop could boot from its card reader.
Gear Head make one of those too. I use bootable SD or Micro SD to run partition and rescue media. Some BIOS will not boot from an SD card so this is a great answer and useful with the camera too. :)

    Gear Head | Card Readers

Store like Menards usually have them in the electrical section.

I originally bought mine so I could flash OS images to the MicroSD cards for my Raspberry Pi on my desktop PC. Saves having to dig out my laptop. Then latter on I tried making bootable media with it and booting from it. Having that work was a nice bonus.

Just waiting for the 128GB SD/Micro SD cards to drop to under $20 so I can do an image of all the computers OS and store them all in a Altiods Mints tin somewhere for safe keeping. Need to go down by another $90 but it will happen.

I've burned 12 builds of Windows 10 to DVD since last October. At 20 cents each that's only $2.40. I kept hoping to convince a family member or friend to try Windows 10 by sharing the DVD. No luck so far.

Remember how impressed we were by the skidloads of boxes of DVDs from earlier Windows OS in Costco, BestBuy and other computer outlets and how quickly they disappeared. Proof positive it was a success.

At our local Walmart there are displays of iTunes cards at every checkout point. If you want a Window Store card search for the little wire rack hanging on the end of aisle somewhere at the very back of the store.

No retailer will give prominent space to a product that is not selling. The smaller footprint of a USB distribution could end up being a wise choice, a small display is better than none at all.

I remember, about 20 years ago, just before or at the beginning of the computer CD, installing Ami Pro Office Suite from a set of 30 - 1.44-mb floppy discs. Ouch. You would get through 27 or 28 and then have a read error. Ahhhhhhhhh! Solid state media is sooooooo much better.
