Micro SD card would be best means for distributing SW.

Just food for thought: I have never forgotten a CD/DVD in my pocket, but I have washed an SD Card in the laundry

Setting regular updates to manual, may be thing of the past as MS declared. If one would go by recent experiences some updates may be dependent on previous ones, so if you miss one you may not get next one even if you wanted.
In the past, I always evaluated each update and installed it if it meets my criteria but in the future it may not be possible. I'm not going to miss opportunity to run W10 just because of that.
Ms provided all the updates to download and install in case it wouldn't pass thru WU and if that continues, you might be able to do it like that if and which you want.
My thoughts is that Mandatory updates will not last long things will change when M$ puts out one that hoses several million systems even M$ cannot stand the howling that will occur.

Which is all the more reason(forced updates) that they should include a system imager similar to the one in Win7, AND advertise it during the OOBE, instead of forcing everyone to resort to 3rd party software.

LOL, Vlad! All my music is on DVD. 100 or so? One of these days when I really retire I'll throw them all on a terabyte dive and sell them. I'm sure someone will buy.

BTW, I still have vinyl which I'll never depart from. Old stuff. You know. Stuff where we amplified distortion and scratches.

True story > I dated a woman whose X was a vinyl junkie. He lived in a mobile home park. He had so much vinyl that the home actually broke in two from the weight.
Vinyl, still have many, many albums. I thought, like you, that someday I will do something with them :)

I actually don't care for the free upgrade. I certainly won't do it come July 29. I will not do it at all if it won't be possible to do it with some sort of ISO.
Clean installs will be doable, after you do the online upgrade.

Those that stay in the Insider program, on the fast ring, get them first. Then Slow ring, then everybody else. That's my understanding anyway. By the time it gets to the non insiders there shouldn't be any big gotcha's.

I do and they are dime a dozen, some computers have them built in too. They are practical too, can be used in phones and other small devices and mailing them is easy and cheap. If windows become unified OS than you could update/upgrade all of them with only one storage media.
