Well, this is strange, to say the least.

I have a Brother MFC-L2705DW and a Brother MFC-J6920DW, both of which are wireless. The Inkjet is low on ink, but I've never had it whine at me in exactly this manner . . .

Since I updated to Build 16184 yesterday, I've been randomly getting the following notification:

Announcing Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 16184 PC and 15208 Mobile-not-enough-ink.png

I haven't attempted to print anything lately, so I can't figure out why it thinks I want to print something.

Anybody else getting anything like this?

Edit: It happens when I'm reading email, when I'm on TenForums, etc. It even happened a bit ago when I rebooted!

So far I've only experienced one problem and that was with Edge. I tried to access my online banking and Edge added strange characters when I was on the page asking for my user name and password.

I just found another bug. When I hover the mouse cursor over the Wi-Fi icon on the taskbar it say "Not connected - Wireless communication is turned off" When I click on it, it says I'm connected. My Wi-Fi is working.

    Oh, Brother!

Most likely a driver problem, Wyn. You may want to try DISM and SFC, and/or uninstall/reinstall the driver. Are you using Edge when this happens by any chance?

It feels unloved, lonely and wants attention. Feed it ink and paper, and give it something to do!

Would someone please help me here? I haven't kept up with Kari's UUP to ISO method. I had it in my head thinking that I had to turn UUP off to get the ESD, but found that is wrong. I turned UUP off in the Registry using f14tomcat's reg .ini file and sent the system back to build 16179. In finding that was wrong, I turned UUP back on also using TC's ini file. Now the system won't upgrade back to 16184. This is what I get after many tries.

Then it quits and goes back to retry. I think I trashed the Registry entries? Any ideas?

    Known issues for PC

    • ADDED: PC Reset via Settings > Update & security > Recovery will not work on this build.
    • Some Insiders have reported seeing this error “Some updates were cancelled. We’ll keep trying in case new updates become available.”¯ in Windows Update. See this forum post for more details.
