Just tried to update my b16170 to b16184.
It failed (80004005) and it also destroyed the VM network card driver.
Even after a complete Reset, it wasn't possible to configure the NIC to connect to the Internet.

It's probably not worth the effort to unzip b15063 and then try again.

I had so much trouble loading Insider Preview Build 16184

over a Dozen times I've tried every "trick" here on TenForums and also many I googled. Always big trouble with Outlook 2016. Froze up constantly, trouble with ,ost files. Rebooted, it ran 30 seconds, then when I tried to do something, anything, it FROZE and required reboot, only to repeat same thing, over and over. I need Outlook 99% of the time. So I Re-Imaged with MR back to Build 16179. Even tried installing 16184 again, same failures, so MR back to Build 16179. This is where I am now. Also had to change Insider to "Slow" to prevent 16184 from reloading again. Once the Insider process starts, impossible to stop except shut down Computer then restart.

NOW......when BUILD 16184 or newer is released to Insider FAST ring, When I know it's released (by news TenForums) I'll change back to FAST ring.

Question: Will NEW update just replace current 16179 and forget all about 16184 ????

Hi there. Yes. It will jump to the next build if set on fast ring. Not sure where slow ring is at. That may jump to 16184 soon.

    Best of luck to you.

Wen, I had a similar experience with MS office 2016 when I tried to upgrade one of my computers to creators version via download assistant. Tried 3 times and each time I could not use outlook or any of suite because the program kept saying it couldn't register my key. I did try with Microsoft office support staff. They were great but still couldn't get it to run. I returned to anniversary build. After that Microsoft Support level 2 called me and told me he would work with me for as long as it takes to get office installed. I told him I didn't have more time and I will wait til creators is pushed out and then if there are problems will contact him. Just thought you might want to try support at MS Office.

    - are you saying that the reason insider build 16184 is not working, is because it won't link to Outlook 2016?
    - does it function ok, otherwise?

Pretty much semi-stable, except for many Outlook 2016 users (including myself)

If you read my posts, Outlook 2016 always Crashes, always the same reason. "cannot find .ost file" but it's there, no corruption. Then Outlook "freezes" and requires reboot of system to TRY to start again, but same thing happens over-and-over-and-over.
I even deleted .ost file and let Outlook create NEW FILE from info on Exchange. Few minutes later, especially when I try to compose new email, it just freezes. Like I said, I tried ALL the tricks on TenForums, Google, Microsoft, etc. NOTHING worked.
So I reimaged using MR7 latest version, to 16179, which is solid as a rock for my needs !! I actually HATE 16184 !!!!

Somehow I ended with two W10 installations, CU on one SSD and 16184 on another. Making MR backup of this Insider and will attempt to convert it to GPT and UEFI because now it's booting from the other SSD which has UEFI partition which this one doesn't. Hope that Convert Windows 10 from Legacy BIOS to UEFI without Data Loss - Windows 10 Installation Upgrade Tutorials works out. It's validated:
    Attachment 133038
    OK. it worked but:
    Attachment 133042
UEFI ended after C: but boots and runs.
This is how it works. It creates space for EFI by shrinking C drive so no other partitions are affected. You can delete first partition but not easy to reclaim space unless you delete hidden MSR partition.

Age isn't important to me any more, Cereberus. :) It's just a number and how I feel is much more 'portant. Does 1937 ring any bells?
