That is why I made the distinction.... I didn't want to imply that it's impossible to do something, because it's not. However, if you want to be legal, then you cannot install the same license on different partitions (and since the Free Windows 10 upgrades your old license, it's still considered the same license, even if the terms are different).

Even if you have multiple keys, that's not multiple licenses.
Yes, you made the distinction . . . we're in complete agreement.

I have multiple licenses for Windows 7 that I can activate; however, I still I cannot transfer them to anyone else.

If you have multiple keys you would have a different license for each key and that is allowed. I think you are referring to how windows 10 changes the key.
I meant if they gave you a different key for Windows 10. Just because you have two keys doesn't mean you have two licenses.

You are absolutely right, Groze, unless some of them turned out to be OEM. I failed to make that distinction because I don't have any OEM keys. :)

Oh, thanks for clarifying that one, Mystere. I thought you were talking about my Windows 7 keys.

Well, I didn't until Mystere clarified it for me. Oops!

What would make anyone here actually believe that after a year, when a new update is offered such as SP1, that Microsoft will be hesitant about changing the licensing terms and ask you accept the change before getting the upgrade. I believe that has been done in just about every OS so far.

The only thing I don't like is a forced Arbitration agreement. I thought the U.S. required places that used those were required to file an opt-out request with that business. You had 30 days to do that. Maybe that will come with the Consumer Release.

Have just purchased a Vantage 2 SSD hot swop device, and are switching between W8.1 and W10 without any problems.
Just disconnect one and use the other to suit yourself, they are two entirely separate systems.
