Glad you got it going satisfactory. I went thru various combinations of CRT and flat panel monitors and it's helping with multitasking a lot. Once you experience it, there's no going back to one. Transition from 4:3 to wide monitors went much easier than I thought it would be. I still can't get real Apps (not desktop programs) to remember which display they opened last but it's not great indifference because I don't use same ones all the time, will have to look at it though.
Yes and thanks again for helping me out in choosing a card. A doozy of a card it is.

My wife thinks I'm nuts with duo monitors. Wait til she sees 3.

BTW, I also changed the allocation of Mem in my BIOS as you suggested. Made the old Acer much quicker. Of course the card made the bigger difference.

Works for me, was one of the first things I noticed after the upgrade to 10. Try this, Open an app, put it on the screen you want, close it with the X. Reboot if you want, then open it again and see what screen it opens on. One thing that can mess it up is if you switch from multi monitors to single, while apps are open. They all move to that single screen. then when you switch back to multi monitors, you need to reposition them again. I'm spoiled now, I run dual monitors on my laptop. Sometimes I unplug the second monitor before shutting down and it messes things up.
It wouldn't do that in same session but now I tried with rebooting and it sticks, even in same session, funny stuff, I tried it with Calc only but now it works with all Apps. Tnx.

That's much harder work than typing "<WinKey>Notepad" or whatever in Windows 8.1.
    I can do that in W7 & W10.

Apparently I'm not the only one:

<Winkey> Notepad <enter> works for me in 10. Maybe my Pentium 4 is just faster'n yours!

Luckily I can simply unlock the Taskbar on primary display (external monitor), drag it to the secondary display (laptop) and place it there where I want to, and finally lock it again. Now I can watch my videos or play a game full screen on the external display which is set as the primary display, while the Taskbar is only shown on the secondary display:I used Kodi as an example in above screenshots which is not the best example as it can be set to use full screen on secondary display, but especially many games do not have that option available.
    Nice trick.

Off topic stuff can get deleted too, if it detracts from the thread. They know what they are doing, and do a very fine job IMHO.

    Okay,
so I completely wiped my machine, clean installed Windows 10, (it activated automatically), then clean installed Windows 8.1, (the version I upgraded to W10 with), on another disk/partition, entered the appropriate product key and, voilà, they're both activated, both genuine and both show the appropriate key!

    ...

Gee, Edwin - you got that blurry text problem real bad - wont you be glad when it's fixed!

As there seem to be new practice here, let's make this completely clear:

The below represents my personal subjective opinion. If you don't feel as I do and want to counter the arguments I have stated, please do so. You are allowed to think differently, I will not take it negatively or as an insult if you have an opposing view. You have right to present another opinion and I promise I will not hold it against you.

I like the simplicity of the Start Menu in 10. It's fast to use, both with mouse and keyboard, and it gets the job done. It does what it is designed to do, is effortless and easy to use.

Win key and start typing, I can find anything on my computer or on the Interwebs. If I know the name of the executable and feel that Cortana is a bit slow sometimes, Win + R + name of the executable launches any program on my system.

All in all, Start & integrated Cortana makes the use of Windows 10 really easy.
