Windows 10 did not see my DVD drive at all but I could still boot from it.

A few posts back:
Windows 10 Build 10240 for PC is now available - Page 206 - Windows 10 Forums
I suggested that Windows Enterprise 10.10240 evaluation trial may be the way to to to test out 10.10240 in the absence of insider activation.
I forgot to mention that you do not need to (and should not) upgrade - it is a clean install.
Another way to obtain a working trial copy, but as a VM, this time, is from the Modern IE program: Virtual Machine (VM), Windows Virtual PC Browserstack | Modern.IE The trial is ostensibly to test out your Website on IE11 under Windows 10, but it is a full enterprise version with Edge etc. The website is under construction due to Windows 10 so not all the features seem to work as they used to.
Available for Hyper-V, VirtualBox and VMWare, on Windows, although it also mentions Linux and Mac, which I could not find, but there are also links for Microsoft Remote Desktop for Mac, iPhone, iPad, Android, Windows Phone 8.1, and the Azure RemoteApp for Windows X86, X64, and Windows RT at Sign in to your Microsoft account
There are no more TechNet Subscriptions, AFAIK - you just register with a few details and your MSA login signs you in.
Thanks. Forgot they eliminated subscriptions there.
With Live account signing into PC it'll usually sign me in anywhere within MS domain, however, it doesn't do so on the TechNet site for some reason. I must sign in manually. Have had an account there for many years. Must be a security feature.
It's just to discourage chancers like us! If you get to some of the areas where subscription is still required, it will tell you that you need a subscription on your account.
