All three Windows 8.1 partitions now upgraded to Windows 10! Two laptops went the GWX route while I had to give up and use the Media Creation Tool on this desktop.

I had downloaded it a few days ago, so ran it today . . . You guessed it! "Something Happened"!

So, after running it the second time, I was presented with Upgrade this PC and Create Installation Media. I chose Upgrade and she was upgraded without a hitch.

I've created the Installation media flash drive and will get around to clean installing Windows 10 on the upgraded partitions and then installing Build 10240 for the next round of Insider testing on the "Test" partitions.

Oh It would be the perfect score alright. In Ct. three strikes means you are behind bars for life.

I am using Malwarebytes Pro (paid for) and Widows Defender, this seems to be more than enough to be secure, but I'm sure others will disagree.

EDIT: I also raised the firewall security level on my modem/router from low to moderate security. Very few people even take this step.
    It is.

    They will.

I've noticed that even though I turn Windows Defender off it eventually turns on again. I'm using Bitdefender and have no need for Defender. Anyone having these issues and if so is there a remedy?

This tells you how to turn off defender:

I think this is a flaw with Windows 10 automatic updates which pretty much updates defender making it active after turning off... You can try turning off Real time protection and turn off messages in action center.

Found out that that doesn't work too.
