That doesn't work if you did a clean install after you did an upgrade. I was actually talking how to uninstall the activation from Microsoft activation servers. Some people are implying that after 30 days you won't be activate windows 7 or 8.1 if you do a clean install or restore from an image. In this case for me it won't matter because I have a pre-installed system that pre-activated.
Do you have a source? The reason my windows 7 retail might be de-activated after 30 days. However, the last activation was done for windows 7 just yesterday. I upgraded from my oem key on the backup of my computer to windows 10, then I did a clean install of windows 10 32 bit. It activated.
Here is my method (Not complete instructions)
Created both 64 bit & 32 bit install usb drive
Windows 7 oem partition one upgraded to windows 10 and it activated.
After image restore
Change Windows 7 oem to a valid windows 7 retail key (To avoid re-installing and to be legal with EULA)
Clean Instal of Windows 10 32 bit to partition 2 and did an install test to see if Microsoft works 7 would install, after connecting to the internet it activated.
This is an interesting topic, thus I will fellow to learn more. Here is a question: I have a built in Key (EUFI or is that UEFI) now it is my understanding that MS has now resigned that Key to Windows 10; now if so even if I use an image of that OS which is windows 8.1, and decide to dump Windows 10 three months down the road that image will no longer be useable because It will not activate as the original key now belongs to Windows 10 on that speicfic computer/machine/system. . .:)
Guys I upgraded from Windows 7 home premium to Insider build 10240 on my laptop. I have left insider build but I am on Windows 10 pro. How to change to Windows 10 home pro from build 10240? Do I need to create Windows 10 home pro using media creation tool to upgrade to Windows 10 home?
There is no Windows Home Pro? There is Windows 10 Home and Windows 10 Pro. You can download either version with the media creation tool. Just select windows 10 Home or windows 10 Professional from the drop down list.
