    Hi there

I think to get activated on the RTM you should have upgraded from your Win 7 system not from the Insider build.

    Cheers

I did upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 10 IP 10133 and the then latest build 10240. At this point everything is activated. As long as you move from Windows 7 Sp1 to Windows 10 (does not matter RTM or IP) activation should work. After that you can clean Install since MS know its the same PC you clean Installed Win 10. Windows 10 should activate on clean install once upgrade procedure is followed originally. Thats how I understand it.

I don't mind waiting as long as they don't mess my OS with the update, Acer has made it clear that they won't support with driver updates for my model

I had the latest version of Speccy diagnostic tools on my PC but it disappeared after installing the 29 July version of Windows on my computer. Everything else on my machine is intact, but I guess Windows 10 didn't like the latest version of Speccy (I downloaded the latest version of Speccy fresh last week).
I think Speccy has always been uninstalled even by tech preview upgrades.

Hi there, brummyfan. Did you have an app called Acer Explorer conveniently install on your machine without consent by any chance? While fiddling with it I eventually got to their site page of old, useless info on my model. I had that page bookmarked since I got this thing. Pretty much crapware IMO.

Wow, these forums just exploded in the last 24 hours with all 1 liner questions .... is this normal for these forums? Seems like no one is doing any searching on topics already covered. Just tons of new accounts with 1 liner posts and 1 pt count .... ?
Those one liner questions are most likely from the ones who a. are looking for help and b. potential members.

Things will settle down once the Launch is over.

Same here on the desktop. The two laptops running 8.1 have been upgraded via GWX.
