Guess I answered my own question about font sizes and title bars in W10, since this is RTM, lol. Great job they did on my eyes :). Especially on 1080p. Gotta send MS a kudos for the lack of customization on the new O/S. Great job. Scaling back down to 1024x768 like the good ol days. Because everything is 9pt and colorless
No kidding. Boost your system-wide scaling to 125%, sign out/in, then go tinkering here:

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop\WindowMetrics

Change the "f1" in the font sizes to something like "ec" or some such. Yes, less is more in this case. I got mine tuned to perfection, then saved the reg key - every build sets things back to "f1".

Oh, you'll have to sign out/in to see the changes.

no offense, but just because andre du costa wrote it, doesn't do it for me. where is gabe's tweet? where is m$'s press release. where is the fanfare? again, i'm not saying it isn't, but won't believe it actually is until i see something from the team. nothing yet...
Yeah, I hear ya, but MS have to release to OEMs in anticipation of July 29. The slmgr /dlv command shows no more expiration date - it did on all other TP builds.

remember MS has changed to windows as a service model if it wasn't official RTM why is it permanently activating where was the last test build been able to do that
Exactly. And MS have to get W10 out to OEMs in advance of the official release date.

That could just mean they're using Insiders to test something that will be more like RTM.

I'm pretty sure OEM's have been Insiders all along - they've been working with builds, testing drivers and such, and no longer need the 3 months that typically elapsed between 'RTM' and 'GA' back in the good old days. It's all different now. Windows is a moving target, and we all need to get used to it. It's a rolling release model...

Of course, properly written and used code is not going to look like Swiss cheese.

Yes, they would have had to be Insiders all along. But MS have to give them a line in the sand: "This is the version you can start burning to systems to prepare for sale on July 29th."

has anyone tried to opt out of the insider program on any of the latest builds? i don't remember reading anyone saying they did this. i might even try this with one of the recent builds (like 10162) to see what happens. but, again, i understand all the speculation, and i am definitely NOT saying that it definitely isn't the rtm, only that i don't believe it is until i see gabe and the team officially say it is. that's all.

really? i don't understand this point at all. customization is exactly what we need. give more people more choices. why would you ever want to limit your choices??????? the reason the smartphone is as popular as it is, customizations!!!!

first, it could very well be a rtm candidate, and wouldn't have an expiration date. second, as was just mentioned, you can believe that the manufacturer's are insiders and doing updates like the rest of us.
