I think you need to reinstall? I'm not sure if a Windows Refresh or Reset will fix it? I don't know what the password is?

Edge is still a glitchy p•i•t•a,
why a three click process just to copy a url?
and what's with the 'cursor from hell'!?
...and still no "paste & go" and the Flash is still outdated.

I started out the Insiders tech previews with a clean install from the beginning, and have upgraded every build since 9926. I never upgraded from W7, although ShowKey says there is a W7 marker in my firmware. I will wait and see what happens after the 29th. Could be, that MS will let you enter your W7 key and activate based on that. If not, you could restore an image of W7. Or, you could just remain as an Insider.

If the motherboard has an OEM Windows 7 SLIC table in the BIOS, the Windows 7 marker will always be there in the BIOS, regardless of what OS is installed or how its installed. The Windows 7 OEM key will only be shown in showkey if Windows 7 is installed and or upgraded from. The Windows 7 product code only ever exists in the Windows registry. It's not stored in the BIOS.

    Yes, got it, thanks.
So, what are the chances that MS will just let us enter our W7 keycode for W10 activation on July 29? Slim to none?

I have no idea? Your guess is as good as mine. If I remember correctly they have been saying you'll have to reinstall the qualifying OS to get the free upgrade. I'd have to hunt for where I read that though. So many links posted to so many tweets etc. It could take me a long time to find it. Having you type in a product code could be an issue if the COA sticker is worn or missing.

almost all flash is outdated now, that is why everyone is kicking flash to the curb. ff and chrome both just decided to kill any ties to flash. no one is going to be using flash very soon. everyone is going to html5.

I've upgraded two rigs and clean installed two others. All are activated! I don't see how the activation status of the two clean installed rigs may change. I guess who already activated their copies, no matter how, are fine.
yes, but the two rigs with clean installs have no upgrade info to get you the final release for free. that is what he is telling you. it's not about what's happening now, but what will happen on the 29th, or there after.

i would think it is very slim because of all the pirated numbers that are out there, or other cases to get those numbers through other than official channels. and here's the thing, even though you will be able to update one way or another in the end, you might be waiting a long time, and doing extra work to do it. i think your best option is to stay in the insider program, until you know for sure.

I'm afraid Flash may hand around for quite some time, too much stuff is in Flash and all ether has to be converted (doubt that) and new stuff made in HTML5 or whatever.
